In general, against human players: this won't be an issue because the game won't last that long.Īgainst the AI, the bigger issue is that the AI is bad at moving its armies and will let you surround them. ![]() I find that the bigger attacker advantage lies in being able to decide whether to fight at all. 3 stacks of succubi will beat 4 stacks of Warbreeds, usually. Also, troop composition and quality matter a lot. At maximum movement range they won't be able to surround you with impunity.ĭ] Even if you do manage the 4 on 3, the defender still gets the first turn. With scouts, you can avoid ending your turn 3 hexes away from a big enemy army. (Even if the game itself is not over, one empire will be strong enough that you know they'll win.)ī] Because of terrain, it's often hard to actually surround the enemy enough to force a 4 on 3 battle.Ĭ] The above goes double if you manoeuvre your forces carefully. The game will usually be decided LONG before that becomes an issue. I find that in practice, this is a very rare scenario.Ī] 6 stack armies are a VERY late game thing.
